The Kielder room shines with a quirky mix of modern and traditional furniture. Breakfast served in the dining area dazzles with a beautiful selection.
The wardrobe in the room felt cramped, barely fitting essentials for a two-night stay, which might be a hassle with formal attire. The bar meals had an early cut-off at 6 PM, limiting options for late arrivals. I also noticed that the views from some rooms are now obstructed by a new housing development, which might deflate the appeal of the surroundings for some travelers. Lastly, if you're sensitive to noise, the extractor from the kitchen can be noticeable, though it's turned off at night.

St Mary's Inn exudes charm with its tasteful decor, warm country colors, and wood-burning stoves. The spacious dining area was fully accessible.

The inn presents a charming exterior reminiscent of its former hospital days, improved with spacious surroundings dotted with mature trees and scenic walking paths. The beautiful rooms offer ample space, with attractive views.
The restaurant service needed a serious upgrade. Meals took ages to arrive despite light occupancy, and breakfast left us waiting too long for basic items like toast. The lack of a telephone in the room was concerning, especially considering that the place remains unmanned at night, compounded by inconsistent mobile reception. Room temperature controls seemed off. The space was too hot initially, and the noise from nearby industrial extraction systems could be disruptive.

The large, comfy rooms. We checked out some local entertainment, enjoyed a fantastic platter, and the breakfast was superb. Don't miss the Bavette steak. Plus, the staff were friendly and helpful.
A friend had issues with noise from an extractor fan next to his room, a bit annoying.
